You've probably heard all of the hype about how AI is helping people produce content faster, and you don't want to be left behind. Well, there are a host of AI tools that work seamlessly with our platform and you can start using them in minutes! This article will break down how to leverage Grammarly for spellcheck and grammar recommendations anywhere in Divvy.
Each AI tool requires you to have an account before they can be used within DivvyHQ.
Account Creation & Installation
Grammarly may be one of the most popular AI writing assistants out there. You can sign up for Grammarly and choose between either the free or paid versions. Once you've created an account, you can then add the Grammarly extension to your desired browser.
Note: For this article, we will specifically walk through how to add Grammarly to Chrome, but extensions for MS Edge and Safari browsers are also available.
To integrate Grammarly into Divvy with the Chrome browser extension, walk through the following steps:
- Open the Chrome Web Store.
- Search for "Grammarly" in the top left corner. The full title of the extension should show up in the list called "Grammarly: Grammar Checker and Writing App"
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Some extensions will let you know if they need certain permissions or data. To approve, click Add extension.
The Grammarly icon should now be active and show up in your Chrome extension list to the right of your URL address bar.
If you do not see it up there, click the puzzle piece icon on the far right of the extension list. Then scroll down to the bottom of the dropdown list and select "Manage Extensions". Then find the Grammarly extension and make sure it is toggled to On.
Installation complete! Now if you have your DivvyHQ account open in another browser tab, you may want to REFRESH the Divvy tab so Chrome will load the Grammarly extension properly within Divvy.
Day-to-Day Use Within Divvy
Now, as you start interacting with various fields within Divvy, you'll notice Grammarly's green icon displayed on the right. Typing within such fields as the content item Description, our HTML Editor, comments, and social post drafts will trigger Grammarly's AI to automatically review your spelling, punctuation, and grammar, and make recommendations on tone of voice.

Depending on your Grammarly plan level, different types of suggestions will be indicated with various underline colors below the words that you have typed. Red underlines tend to be the most common since those signal punctuation issues, which is available on the free plan. On the Premium plan, you also have:
- Blue = Clarity
- Green = Engagement
- Purple = Delivery
Simply hover over the underlined word or words and Grammarly will suggest to you what should be placed there instead. You can then decide to accept their suggestion or dismiss it.
