Google Calendar Sync Details
If you are currently managing your entire day through Google Calendar, you will be relieved to know that you can sync your DivvyHQ content and task deadlines to ensure you never miss a beat! Setting it up only takes a few minutes and the outcome is pretty impactful.
Since this connection relies on a third party (Google in this case), these instructions may not be 100% accurate due to changes that the third party may make to their interface or functionality. If Google has made a change and you find that our instructions or screenshots are no longer valid, we'd very much appreciate a heads up! Please leave us a comment and we'll get the article updated.
Set-up Guide
Step 1: Go into your My Profile interface by clicking your on your name/photo on the top right corner of Divvy and selecting My Profile.
Step 2: Scroll down to the Calendar Sync section. From here you have two options with regard to which types of deadlines will be included in your Google Calendar sync. You can choose to include tasks and/or content Item deadlines. Whichever option you choose, those deadlines will now be included in the data feed that Google Calendar will receive.
If you don't select one of the options, your calendar sync will not include any data.
Step 3: With your desired date types selected, copy the URL to your clipboard.
Step 4: Go into your Google Calendar and scroll down to "Other Calendars" on the left-hand side where you typically go to subscribe to other calendars. From there you will click the "+" button and select "From URL".
Step 5: Paste the DivvyHQ link that you copied earlier into this field and select whether or not you'd like for these content items to be visible publicly.
That's it! You've added your Divvy content deadlines and/or task deadlines to your calendar!
Step 6 (Optional): Once you've added the calendar, you'll notice that it displays the URL as the calendar name. This and various other settings can be changed for your Divvy calendar. Simply click the Calendar Settings option and make any desired adjustments (i.e. calendar name, permissions, notifications, etc.). Note that a browser refresh may be required in order for a calendar name change to update.
Hide or Remove Your DivvyHQ Calendar from Google Calendar
If you'd like to hide Divvy content deadlines and/or tasks within you Google Calendar, simply uncheck that calendar from the left-side list of calendars and you will no longer see any of those content items or tasks.
To remove the calendar altogether, get back into the calendar's settings interface, scroll to the bottom and click the "Unsubscribe" button.
