TABLE OF CONTENTS

Getting Started

In order to begin tracking assets, a user needs to have the "Manage fingerprints" rule enabled. Navigate to Settings > User Settings > Roles, choose the role to provide this rule to and under the DAM tab, select Manage fingerprints. Click Save when you are finished.

Within the Lytho DAM, click into the asset details section of the asset you want to track. In the General tab, you will find a new section, Asset Tracking. Check Track external usage to activate asset tracking. Once activated, Lytho will ensure comprehensive tracking when downloaded in its original form, through download presets, and via cropper presets.

Lytho generates a unique fingerprint for each download and cropper preset to enhance asset tracking efficiency. When a user downloads an asset in a specific dimension, a fingerprint is created for that dimension. Subsequent downloads of the same asset in identical dimensions won't require additional fingerprints.

If a user has the "Download untracked assets" rule and downloads an asset with tracking enabled, they'll be presented an option to choose between the original untracked asset and the current tracked asset. If the asset does not have tracking enabled, the download process will continue normally.

If you no longer need to track an asset, uncheck the Track external usage checkbox. Select Stop tracking to confirm your choices.

Tracking history is preserved for record keeping even if you choose to stop tracking that specific asset.

To add or remove tracking on multiple assets at a time, select the assets to open the activity modal. From the General tab, under the "Description" field, use the Asset Tracking section and select Track external usage for all to add tracking to all selected assets or Untrack external usage for all to remove tracking from those assets.

Asset tracking will immediately be added or removed from your total available fingerprints once you've made your selection.

To the right of the bulk add/remove menu, your account's total fingerprint count will be displayed.

If you do not have enough available fingerprints for the number of assets you're attempting to track, an error message will be displayed.

Monitoring Your Tracked Assets

Lytho will conduct scans of your tracked assets on the 1st and 15th of each month. Within an asset's Additional Details, under the USAGE tab, the ACTIVE USAGE you can monitor the URLs where the asset has been successfully detected. You have the ability to copy these URLs for further investigation or action.

The HISTORY tab will display locations that were previously detected, but are no longer detected.

Filtering for Tracked Assets

Filters within the Lytho DAM will allow you to easily manage which assets are being tracked. Within the filters menu select Asset Tracking.

  • Select Tracked Assets to view all of the assets that are currently being tracked
  • Select Detected Online to view the assets that are being tracked and have been detected by the tracking feature
  • Select Not Tracked to view your assets that are not currently being tracked.
